Welcome to our classrooms, our home away from home
Located on the 3rd floor of the Massachusetts Transportation Building, the Transportation Children's Center's (TCC) layout includes five beautifully designed classroom spaces geared to the developmental ages of the children they serve. The environment is warm and nurturing, offering a home away from home atmosphere where the children feel loved, safe, and secure and parents feel welcome. We are located in the Theatre District of Boston, adjacent to the beautiful Boston Public Gardens.
Directions to TCC from 93 North
Take 93 South to exit 23. Stay in the right lane. Go straight through 7 sets of lights. At the 8th light, take a right onto Kneeland Street. Follow Kneeland Street through several sets of lights. When you see the 7-Eleven on the corner, the State Transportation Building occupies this entire block. At your next set of lights the road turns to your right. This is Charles Street. After turning onto Charles Street take your first right into the Transportation Building Garage. (The garage will say full, but still go in and tell them you are going up to the child care center).
From the garage, take the elevator up to the first floor and the escalator up to the second floor. Make a U-turn and walk to the far elevators to your right. Take one of these elevators up to the third floor. When you exit this elevator, you will see the sign for the Center.
Directions to TCC from the South
Take exit 20 off 93 North. At the first fork in the road, stay right. At the 2nd fork, stay left and follow the signs for South Station/Chinatown. At the 2nd set of lights turn left onto Kneeland Street. Follow Kneeland Street straight through several sets of lights. When you see the 7-Eleven on the corner, the State Transportation Building occupies this entire block. At your next set of lights the road turns to your right. This is Charles Street. Directions to TCC from the "T"
Make connections from the Blue, Orange, Red, and Commuter Rail to the Green line. Take the Green line to the Boylston stop. When exiting the train station, walk straight ahead to the corner. This will be Boylston Street and you will see Dunkin Donuts in front of you. Cross over to Dunkin Donuts and turn to your right walking up Boylston Street. You will pass the Colonial Theater. When you reach the Remington's restaurant, just after it on the left there is a long brick path ally that leads right into the Transportation Building. Follow this path right into the building.
From the first floor, take the escalator up to the second floor. Make a U-turn and walk to the far elevators to your right. Take an elevator up to the third floor. When you get off the elevator, you will see the sign to the Center.

Public Transportation
Convenient access to the MBTA's Orange, Red, and Green lines that are just a short walking distance from the Center. Handicapped access is available at the New England Medical Center T-Stop on the Orange Line.
